KOFF Peacebuilding Magazine by Swiss Peace profiled the tool in the November 2020 special issue entitled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swisspeace.ch\/apropos\/november-2020\/\">Digital Technologies: A Game Changer for Peace?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/pax.peaceagreements.org\/covid19ceasefires\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Covid-19 Ceasefire Tracker<\/a> is a publicly available digital tracking tool to examine the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic on peace processes and armed conflict across the world. In March 2020, the UN Secretary General <a href=\"https:\/\/news.un.org\/en\/story\/2020\/03\/1059972\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">called for a global ceasefire<\/a> in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. The tool monitors\u00a0 ceasefires alongside live data on infection rates in country, using an interactive timeline and map including live data on infection rates in country.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pax.peaceagreements.org\/static\/covid19ceasefires\/\">Ceasefires in a Time of Covid-19<\/a> is a collaborative project between the <a href=\"https:\/\/peacerep.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Political Settlements Research Programme (PSRP)<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.prio.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO),<\/a>\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/css.ethz.ch\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.c-r.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Conciliation Resources<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/themediateur.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mediateur (European Forum for International Mediation and Dialogue)<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usip.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">United States Institute of Peace (USIP)<\/a>,\u00a0with thanks to contributions from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/peacemaker.un.org\/mediation-support\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mediation Support Unit<\/a> in the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>The KOFF Peacebuilding Magazine praises the ceasefires tracker for supporting peacebuilding during the pandemic:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The virtual tracking tool thus functions as a reliable and rich public resource of information on ceasefires that enables experts working on peace process support and beyond to track the cessation of hostilities in real-time, accurately identify where their support can be best-placed and maintain a critical bird\u2019s-eye view of the interplay between ceasefire developments and the evolution of the pandemic.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swisspeace.ch\/apropos\/a-virtual-tool-for-effective-peace-process-support\/\">Read the feature in full at the KOFF Peacebuilding Magazine website.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The special issue also features a range of cuting-edge PeaceTech innovations, including an app for peaceful local development, a project ensuring good governance in a digitalized security sector, and a project linking global education and digital peacebuilding to create opportunities for large-scale online dialogue and collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>David Lanz, Co-Head Mediation Program at Swiss Peace also featured the ceasefires tracker alongside the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.peaceagreements.org\">PA-X Peace Agreement Database<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/peacerep.org\/peacefem\/\">PeaceFem app<\/a> in a Twitter thread on the best interactive online tools for peace mediation. <a
