As PeaceRep prepares to release Version 8 of the PA-X Peace Agreements Database later in 2024, we welcome five individuals to the PA-X team during this critical time. Our new PA-X Peace Agreement Analysts have joined the PA-X team to add additional capacity and assist with implementing key updates to PA-X V8.<\/p>\n

We are delighted to introduce:<\/p>\n

1. Moosa Izzat:<\/strong> Moosa\u2019s academic pursuits in Human Rights and Legal Studies, complemented by his research on citizenship laws, minority rights, and legal aid, are a great addition and serve our analytical needs. His internships and research roles, including at the Political Conflict, Gender and People\u2019s Rights Initiative at the University of California, Berkeley, showcase his adeptness in complex legal matters.<\/p>\n

2. Kelsey Kestenbaum:<\/strong> With her background in Human Rights and Political Science, Kelsey\u2019s focus on global politics and international conflict is noteworthy. Her expertise in research and data organisation, honed through work on projects like International Crisis Behavior of Big, Allied, and Dangerous Organizations (ICBAAD), National Counterterrorism, Innovation, Technology, and Education Center (NCITE), and her experience at the US Government Accountability Office, make her a valuable asset to our team.<\/p>\n

3. Tom Morley:<\/strong> Tom\u2019s focus on Human Rights and conflict resolution, especially in the MENA region, is enhanced by his academic background in Arabic and International Relations. His cultural experiences in Tunisia and Oman, along with his proficiency in Arabic, provide a deeper understanding of Middle Eastern conflicts.<\/p>\n

4. Saketh Srinivas Pittala<\/strong>: Saketh\u2019s motivation for peace, rooted in personal experiences and his service in the National Cadet Corps Indian Army, underscores his commitment. His Public Administration background, research on conflict areas, and technical skills in database management and server operations are important contributions to our program.<\/p>\n

5. Surya Kiran Yadav:<\/strong> Surya\u2019s first-hand experience in post-conflict environments, especially in Nepal and the Philippines, brings a unique perspective. His work with various institutions on conflict analysis and transitional justice, coupled with his research skills, enriches our team\u2019s expertise.<\/p>\n

The new PA-X Analysts collectively bring a wealth of knowledge in research, data analysis, language proficiency, and cultural insights., and we are thrilled about the potential impact and fresh perspectives they will bring to the PA-X team. Their diverse backgrounds and skills reinforce our commitment to understanding complex global conflicts and contributing to lasting peace.<\/p>\n

PA-X is currently the most expansive collection of peace agreements data in the world. Currently in Version 7, PA-X contains 2,003 peace agreements, found in more than 150 peace processes between 1990 and 2023. PA-X data underpins a range of digital tools to support policy and practice, including visualisations, trackers, interactive timelines, infographics, and a mobile app.<\/p>\n
