He is also a Research Associate at the Conflict and Civil Society Research Unit in the Department of International Development at LSE.<\/p>\n<p>Mazen\u2019s work focuses on the role of governance during and post conflict. He combines academic research with policy work and strong grassroots experience.<\/p>\n<p>He has published on local governance and the perception of legitimacy in Syria.
